Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-09-07 · Last updated: 2026-09-07
This policy explains what CLARITYTV.COM LLC collects when you use ClarityTV, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Your phone number. It identifies your account and carries your balance. It is also how you sign in to your account area.
- Your name, if you give it. Optional. It goes on your receipts.
- Your email. Required: it is how you sign in, how we send the code that opens a transcript, and where your receipts go. You can change it yourself at any time, but not remove it, because it is how you get back in. An email can only be on one account.
- Call records. Which reader you called, when the call started and ended, how long it lasted, and what it cost.
- Call recordings and transcripts. Your calls are transcribed automatically and the transcript is kept, so that you can read your own readings back in your account area and so that we can settle billing disputes. Transcripts are held by the company that runs our voice service, on our behalf and under our instructions.
- Payment information. Our payment processor handles your card. We keep the amount, the date, the result and a reference number — never your full card number.
- Site usage. Standard web logs: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the timestamps of those visits.
- What you tell us. Anything you send to support.
We do not ask for your Social Security number, and you should never give one to a reader.
Why we collect it
- to connect your calls and bill them correctly;
- to hold and reconcile your balance;
- to investigate billing disputes, chargebacks and fraud;
- to answer your support requests;
- to keep the service secure and working;
- to meet our legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Your account area
You can see what we hold about you at any time, without asking us, at claritytv.com/account. To get in you use your email address and your password. Knowing your phone number is not enough on its own: anyone can know a number, and these are personal conversations. To open a transcript we also send a six-digit code to the email address on your account, which lasts ten minutes.
Inside you will find your balance, every reading you have had with the reader, the date, the length and the cost, the written transcript of each of those readings, every top-up with its downloadable receipt, and your own name and email to edit. A sign-in lasts fourteen (14) days on that browser, and you can end it whenever you like with Sign out.
If someone else has your phone, they can reach your account. Sign out when you are done on a device that is not yours, and tell us at claritytv@claritytv.com if you lose the number.
Who we share it with
- Our telephony and voice provider, to place and carry the call.
- Our payment processor, to take payment and issue refunds.
- Readers, who see the first name you give and the fact that you are calling — they do not see your payment details.
- Service providers such as hosting and error monitoring, bound to use the data only for us.
- Law enforcement or a court, where we are legally required to, or where someone’s safety is at risk.
- A buyer, if the business is sold or merged; we would tell you first.
How long we keep it
Call and billing records are kept for seven (7) years, which is what tax and dispute rules require of us. Call recordings are kept for twelve (12) months unless a dispute or investigation needs them for longer. Web logs are kept for ninety (90) days. When you close your account we delete what we are not required to keep.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live — and in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and several other states, regardless — you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete information we are not legally required to keep;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your information (we do neither);
- not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
The quickest way to ask us to delete your account is the Delete your account button in your account area. It reaches us straight away, you can cancel it while we work on it, and it saves you having to prove who you are — you already did that when you signed in. We remove your name, your email and your account, and we keep only the payment and call records we are required to keep, for as long as the section above says. Any balance left on the account is not refunded automatically; ask us first if you have one.
You can also write to claritytv@claritytv.com from the phone number or email on the account and we will respond within forty-five (45) days. We may need to verify who you are before we act on the request. You may use an authorized agent.
Children
ClarityTV is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the service, write to claritytv@claritytv.com and we will delete the account and its data and refund any unused balance.
Cookies and browser storage
We use browser storage for two things: to remember that you confirmed you are 18 or older, and to keep small interface preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. Clearing your browser data will simply make the age confirmation appear again.
Who reads your transcripts
You can read your own, whenever you want, in your account area.
On our side, nobody reads them as a matter of course. They never appear in any list, report or export we look at. A member of our staff can open a single conversation only by writing down why — to settle a billing dispute you raised, or to look into a safety report — and that act is recorded with their name, the reason, the call and the moment they opened it. We keep that record so the question of who read what has an answer.
Security
Traffic to the site is encrypted in transit. Balances and call records are held in an access-controlled database, and staff access is limited to those who need it to run the service. No system is perfect; if a breach affects your information we will notify you as the law requires.
Where your data is held
ClarityTV is operated from the United States and your information is processed there.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top of the page and, for material changes, give notice on the site before they take effect.
